At the initiative of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, on 26 May 2020, the Republic of Serbia ratified the Protocol amending the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data ( “Protocol 223”), with the goal to ensure application of the data protection principles on all processing activities, as well as to strengthen the international co-operation of data protection authorities.
The Republic of Serbia is the fourth country – member of the European Council to ratify this protocol, after Croatia, Bulgaria and Lithuania.
