Serbia ratified the Protocol amending the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data ( “Protocol 223”), with the goal to ensure application of the data protection principles on all processing activities, as well as to strengthen the international co-operation of data protection authorities.

Working breakfast

Joint law office Cvetković, Skoko & Jovičić held a Working breakfast on 19 June 2019, in cooperation with the Serbian Association of Managers whose member is partner Goran Cvetkovic. The subject of the Working breakfast was the new Law on Personal Data Protection.

How to harmonize with the new Law on Personal Data Protection

Attorney Petar Mijatovic from the Cvetkovic, Skoko & Jovicic Law Office will hold a seminar on 18 April 2019 on “How to harmonize with the new Law on Personal Data Protection”. The seminar will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in amphitheater A6 of the Belgrade Business School – Higher Education Institution for Applied Studies.

General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union

In April 2016, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted the Regulation on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data which shall apply starting from May 25th 2018. Although the Republic of Serbia is not a state member of the Union, the Regulation shall be applicable directly to certain business entities in the country.
