Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Enforcement and Security Interest

The amended Law on Enforcement and Security Interest has entered into force on 3 August 2019, and shall for the most part become applicable as of 1 January 2020. The main reason for rendering the Law is to resolve all issues arising from its application, primarily by removing any flaws from certain articles that contained incomplete and insufficiently clear provisions, as well as by introducing new legal solutions.

Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Foreign Exchange Operations

The new Law’s primary objective is to ensure the free movement of capital that relates to portfolio investments and financial credits and loans with a maturity of less than one year, as well as the harmonization of legislation with international standards in the field of prevention and detection of money laundering and terrorist financing.

BIG Fashion Park

In the capacity of advisor to BIG Israel, CSJ has completed activities on the purchase of 50.000 m2 of land which belonged to company Minel Kotlogradnja Real Estate and is located in Visnjicka Street, next to the BIG Fashion Park shopping mall.

BIG Fashion shopping mall

The Big Fashion shopping mall officially opened, marking the end of the transitional period. CSJ is engaged as the legal representative of the owner of the shopping mall, in charge of solving all issues that may arise in the operating of Big Fashion.

BIG Fashion

CSJ completed the legal due diligence and issued a positive opinion regarding the purchase of the Plaza Shopping Centre in construction located in Višnjička street, thus creating conditions for the signing of all documents required for BIG Israel to become owner of the shopping centre. This marks the beginning of the transitional period which will last until the grand opening of the shopping centre where CSJ will continue with the role of legal advisor.

Law on Enforcement and Security

In focus: On December 18th 2015, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Law on Enforcement and Security Proceedings, which enters into force on July 1st 2016, except for provisions of the Law relating to the obligation of the Chamber of public enforcement officers and the competent minister to adopt regulations for the purpose of implementing the Law, which became applicable as of December 29th 2015.

Blue Center

CSJ is engaged as legal adviser to Blue Center for the refinancing of an existing loan. Blue Center owns the largest business building in Belgrade of the highest A+ class. Refinancing of the loan is led by the Erste Bank and Alpha Bank consortium, and the total value of the deal is 49 million euro. Attorneys Goran Cvetkovic, Mina Skoko i Jelena Jovicic are engaged in the project encompassing local and international legal aspects.
