New more restrictive measures for suppressing COVID-19

The Government of the Republic of Serbia has adopted new measures to combat COVID-19, which enter into force on Friday, 4 December, and which will be applicable until 15 December. 

The new measures stipulate additional shortening of working hours of catering facilities, children’s playrooms, shopping centers, beauty and hairdressing salons, gyms and sports facilities, cultural institutions, as well as other facilities.

Namely, it is stipulated that shopping malls, clothing stores, catering facilities, cafes, restaurants, bars, playrooms, gyms and other sport facilities, gaming houses, casinos, beauty and hairdressing salons will only be allowed to operate until 5 p.m. on weekdays, and will be completely closed on weekends.

Grocery stores, trade shops, retail stores, newsstands, kiosks and similar facilities where customers do not enter the facility when shopping, can work both on weekdays and weekends until 9 p.m.

Markets will be open regularly on weekdays, and on weekends from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cinemas, theaters, museums, galleries and other cultural institutions will be open until 5 p.m. every day, including weekends.

Facilities and shops that provide services that do not require the presence of users or where presence and contact are of limited duration, such as home appliance services, technical services and craft shops can operate on weekdays until 9 p.m. and on Saturdays until 5 p.m.

Restaurants and bars located within hotels and private accommodation can provide their services exclusively to registered guests every day until 9 p.m.

Medical practices and laboratories can operate throughout the day, including weekends.

The above stated restrictions do not apply to pharmacies, petrol stations (exclusively for the purpose of refueling) and entities engaged in food delivery, who can operate without restrictions, all seven days of the week.

This notice is based on the notice published on the website of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, considering that there is still no formal decision regarding this matter.
